Keimyung University Conferred Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts on Akmal Nuridinov, President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts.

This is in recognition for his contributions towards the spread of the Korean Wave through cultural exchange projects with Korea.
Keimyung University (KMU) conferred honorary doctorate of fine arts on Akmal Nuridinov, President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts.
Honorary Doctorate Conferral Ceremony was held at International Seminar Room, Dongcheon Hall at Keimyung University with presence of Jun Dae Wan, Former Ambassador of Korea to Uzbekistan, Arziev Fazliddin, Counselor of Uzbekistan Embassy, KIM Chunil, President of Korea-Uzbekistan Association, Prof. Synn Ilhi, President of Keimyung University, and other officials.
The ceremony was performed in order of declaration of opening and introduction of achievement from Prof. Chung, Chinkap, Dean of graduate school, conferral of honorary doctorate and speech from President of Keimyung University, a valedictory speech from President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts, and a congratulatory remark from Former Ambassador of Korea to Uzbekistan.
Dean of Graduate school introduced achievements of President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts that President Akmal Nuridinov was conferred the honorary title of 'People's Artist of Uzbekistan' in 2005, and has devotedly been doing his best to promote Uzbekistan's culture and arts through various activities and strengthen exchanges and communication after he was elected President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts in March 2012. Also, in recognition of his contribution to the spread of the Korean Wave through cultural exchange projects with Korea, he is conferred honorary doctorate of fine arts.
President of KMU remarked that it is our honor to confer honorary doctorate of fine arts on Akmal Nuridinov, President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts, and that it was a great honor to have as an alumnus of KMU President Akmal Nuridinov, who is an artist, educator, and furthermore, whose literary mission not only spans between Korea and Uzbekistan, but is at the center of the world itself.
President Akmal Nuridinov replied and said that, I cannot express this pleasure more than enough. In particular, today seems to be more meaningful in that it is the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Uzbekistan. I am honored to be a member of Keimyung University. I hope that we will take the lead in cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries and create great historical value that can be passed down to future generations by harmonizing different civilizations.
President of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts, Akmal Nuridinov earned a master’s degree at Ostrovskii National Academy of Arts (1984). He served as the director of the Uzbekistan National Gallery (2002-2004), then as a professor at National Institute of Fine Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Bekhzod (2012~), then as president of Uzbekistan's Academy of Arts (2012~). He was also awarded the People's Artist of Uzbekistan (2005), the National Award of Uzbekistan (2011), the Honorary Academy of the Russian Academy of Arts (2013), and order of merit for Uzbekistan pidocorona xizmatlari (2019).
