i) Course Overview This class deals with the fundamentals and applications of special and environmental friendly technologies for treatment of the water contaminated with various pollutants. i) Educational Objectives  Using a methodical, step-by-step presentation, this curse starts by overviewing the origin of toxicants and the correlated comparative extent of contamination to the environment.  Fundamentals of electrochemical concepts  The core part of course publication describes the major green technological treatments of waste water iii) Class Procedures Lecture using the study materials from various sources and using the black board for better understanding of the students and use of audiovisual data’s, where ever required, will be performed in parallel. iv) Teaching materials / related materials Self-made power point presentations from various sources and suggestion of the text books. v) Practical use of this course: Green technologies are playing significant role in changing the course of nation’s economic growth towards sustainability and providing an alternative socio-economic model that will enable present and future generations to live in a clean and healthy environment, in harmony with nature. Green Technologies and Environmental Sustainability is focused on the goals of green technologies which are becoming increasingly important for ensuring sustainability. Green technologies include: electrochemical, Photo and electrocatalysis, Biological. v) Learning assessment 1. Attendance 10% 2. Group Activity 10% 3. Quiz (2): Each 15% = Total 30% 4. Midterm exam 25% 5. Final examination 25%
